He comes out of retirement to replace Charles Woodword, who remains with the company as non-executive director. Edmans, an adviser to the Thoresen Review of Generic Financial Advice and a founding board member of the Pensions Regulator, joins from Aegon where he worked as director of corporate development from 2000 until his retirement in June 2006.
