Balls calls for wider access to unregulated advice

Ed Balls MP is calling for a more "comprehensive and preventative" approach to advice through wider access to unregulated or 'generic' financial advice.

Speaking at the financial capability conference, Balls says financial planning too often remains the preserve of the better off and believes there is a growing consensus this gap needs to be filled. He states: "One area I am keen to explore is how we can widen access to unregulated or 'generic' financial advice – also often referred to as 'money advice' – to help people manage and plan their finances."
