In the UK, the FTSE 100 Index is trading around 4,700 points adding 10.80 points to 4699.20 points this morning.
Leading gains is steel maker Corus, up 1p to 53.25p, while water company United Utilities has picked up 5.75p to 422.75p. Centrica has fallen 14.25p or 5% to 235.75p after the company reported that higher energy prices would affect its performance. The company said that 630,000 customers of its British Gas unit have left because of increasing prices. Investment firm Amvescap, has shed 3.50p to 307.50p this morning. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 0.2% to 10,756.80 at its close early this morning, paced by banks such as Mizuho Financial Group. There is concern that a ce...
