Cowman to lead Just Retirement protection launch

Just Retirement has announced it is entering the protection market in July and has appointed Paul Cowman, head of protection at Prudential, to develop its product strategy.

David Cooper, group marketing director at Just Retirement, says the firm has always aspired to be more than an annuity and equity release provider and it sees protection at the next opportunity in the retirement market. Cowman resigned from Prudential earlier this week and while it is not yet known when exactly he will join Just Retirement, Cooper says the firm will launch its protection products in July.
