Sir Alan to become 'Enterprise Tsar'

Sir Alan Sugar has been appointed as 'Enterprise Tsar' as part of Gordon Brown's Cabinet reshuffle, early reports suggest.

The Apprentice star and founder of Amstrad was seen entering Downing Street last night, leading to widespread speculation the celebrity businessman would take on a role in the Government. Some had even predicted Sir Alan would take over from Business Secretary Peter Mandelson, though he would have to become a Peer if this were to happen. Sugar had made a large donation to the Labour Party in 2001, and was speaking out today in support of the Prime Minister after James Purnell resigned from the Department for Work and Pensions.
