The FTSE 100 index is up about 4 points to 4,992 this morning, paced by some earnings news and profits forecasts.
BAE gained nearly 3% on forecasts of growing profitability and a strong order book. Hilton gained about 2% on news its profits from betting operations increased. Royal & Sun Alliance fell about 1.5% after analysts at Citygroup cut their recommendation on the stock to ‘sell’ from ‘hold’. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index closed up 62.59 points at 10,673.79 yesterday, with the Nasdaq Composite up 0.93 points at 2,031.25. IFAonline
