Creating more adviser labels and allowing guided sales or assisted purchases will only end in industry failure, Skandia warns.

In its formal RDR response, Skandia argues retail market distribution should be polarised into just two categories; advice and no advice. Skandia says a simplified system is the only way to bring clarity to the market and boost consumer confidence. In its six suggestions for RDR success, Skandia wants: No sub categories to blur the distinction between advice and no advice, such as guided sales or assisted purchase by primary or generic advisers Protection for those receiving advice by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme Advice to be signed off by qualified professionals...
