Obesity along with around 1,000 other medical conditions now qualify Brits for enhanced annuity rates, new research indicates.

Research from retirement specialist Just Retirement found in some cases retirement funds increased by up to 25% for people retiring at 65, with conditions like high blood pressure and high cholesterol, asthma and diabetes among everyday symptoms which can add to an increased annuity. Just Retirement director Andrew Megson says: “Many people may well be aware that they can get increased rates if they are smokers, for example - but our research suggests that few people know that there is an enormous range of conditions which will allow them to claim higher annuities.” The 20 most common...
