Election result cements Greece potential - Hibbert

The re-election of the New Democracy party in Greece will ensure one of Europe's blossoming economies continues its rise to prominence, according to Scottish Widows fund manager Alister Hibbert.

Hibbert, manager of the firm’s European Select Growth fund, says the Greek Government is known for its pro-reform stance and has already overseen a rising GDP, tax cuts, and a fall in unemployment. He says advisers would do well to consider investing their clients’ money in Greece, and in the retail sector in particular. “Greece remains one of the most interesting areas in the European landscape,” says Hibbert, who currently invests a fifth of his fund solely in Greece. “We have very strong growth coming out of east Europe but if you look west there is real growth in countries like Gr...
