Close acquires Aon Asset Management

Close Investments has acquired Aon Asset Management's multi-manager business, which will be combined with its own to form Close Multi-Manager with funds under management of about £2bn.

The Dublin-based Aon business was formed in March 2003 and includes six Oeic funds covering global asset classes. Its boss Adrian Swales will become chief executive of Close Multi-Manager, as Steve Delo from Close TEAMS takes up the managing director role. Tommy Garvy, another Aon person, becomes chief investment officer, working alongside other managers Nicola Springall and Patrick Norwood, both of Close TEAMS.
