Investors are flocking to absolute return funds as a shelter from the current market chaos, Welsh-based IFA James Gadd believes.
Gadd, of Cardiff IFA firm St Davids, says investors are seeking more exotic and previously unavailable offerings for constant performance. Aside from absolute return – Gadd says hedge funds, gold and agriculture are other areas currently hitting the right notes with clients. “Traditionally, cautiously-managed funds would comprise 50% shares, and 50% bonds, whereas aggressively-managed funds would include 90% of shares,” Gadd says. “Now, however, there is more than the traditional asset classes to invest in.
