SABmiller pulls FTSE lower

The FTSE 100 is down 14.5 points, or 0.23%, to 6,218.8 in early trading, as confidence has been hit by news SABmiller has lost a contract which could knock $80m off next year's earnings.

The brewing company is the biggest loser with a drop of 3.7% to £10.93, after its South African arm lost a contract with Heineken which allowed SABmiller to brew Amstel. Elsewhere hedge fund manager Man Group has slipped 2.02% to 521.5p, Unilever is down 1.27% to £13.97, Capita Group has slipped 1.11% to 670.5p, while Shire has declined 1.09% to £10.84, although losses are being limited by Cadbury Schweppes which is up 1.47% to 553p. However Alliance Boots is the biggest gainer with a rise of 2.61% to £10.22, while ICI has added 1.28% to 495.75p, Slough Estates has climbed 1.27% to 75...
