'Huge appetite' for protected rights in SIPPs

There is a huge demand among IFAs and their clients for protected rights to be included in SIPPs, according to Premier Pension Services (PPS).

The services provider says it has received a number of enquiries on the subject and is in the process of developing its SIPP proposition to allow the inclusion of protected rights funds in the future. However, it says it is unable to offer protected rights at present as they can only be included in a SIPP when it is sold through life company wrappers. The Government has announced this situation will change but there is currently no timetable in place.
