FTSE down after turbulent day

In London, markets declined significantly before making a slight recovery before closing and the FTSE 100 lost 37.5 (0.62%) to 6,046.1.

Reckitt Benikser shares added 200 points (7.19%) to £29.80, while British Airways added 11.25 (5.49%) to 216.25p. Eurasian shares dropped 105p (7.39%) to £13.15, while Schroders lost 70 points (6.4%) to £10.23 as the financial sector continued to suffer. On Wall Street, markets fell in early trading after concern over retailer results offset a fall in employment and the Dow Jones was down 18.89 (0.15%) to 12,744.33. General Motors were the biggest gainers, up 0.52 (2.48%) to $21.46, while AIG recouped some of yesterday’s losses, adding 0.94 (2.14%) to $44.80. 3M company dropped 2.63 (3....
