Parliamentary ombudsman Ann Abraham has just announced she will "conduct a further investigation into the prudential regulation of Equitable Life".
Her decision follows pressure from policyholders and parliamentarians during a consultation period set aside by Abraham following the publication of the Penrose Report. "The concerns surrounding the prudential regulation of Equitable Life remain despite the publication of the Penrose Report and the Government's response to it," says Abraham.
