Over half the working population are still unaware of the tax advantages to saving in a pension, claims B&CE Benefit Schemes.
Research from the not-for-profit provider of pension schemes reveals 52% of workers do not know about the tax relief available on pension contributions, up from 43% in June 2006. In addition, the survey of 831 workers revealed 65% of workers under 34 are unaware of the tax advantages, which increased to 70% of workers under the age of 24, while 65% of unskilled manual workers are also unaware of the tax benefits of pensions.
