FSA bans mortgage introducer for first time

The FSA has banned its first mortgage introducer, a role which does not require FSA approval, for mortgage fraud.

The ban of Andrew Talai Kiplimo, from Ilford, Essex, follows the FSA's commitment to clampdown on the 'widespread' problem of mortgage fraud in 2008. Kiplimo submitted mortgage applications supported by inflated income statements, false employment details and a false set of accounts and tax calculation. He also continued to submit mortgage applications to a lender after it indicated it would no longer accept business from him.
