Chancellor Alistair Darling has confirmed the 2009 Budget will be held on 22 April.
Darling will present his Budget statement after the Easter recess, he told the House of Commons. The Budget will come a fortnight after the G20 summit where world leaders will meet to endeavour to formulate solutions to the global economic crisis. Mervyn King, governor of the Bank of England this week said the UK is 'in a deep recession'. IFAonline
