Abbey cuts rates and launches mega-mortgages

Abbey is to reduce rates on some of its mortgage deals, as well as launching a large loans service.

From Friday 1 August, Abbey will reduce rates on its two and three-year fixed rates, as well as its tracker range, by up to 0.15%. Among its 75% LTV range, two-year fixed rates will start from 6.19%, while three-year deals will begin at 6.29%. Abbey’s broker special has also seen rates cut to 5.69% with a £1,999 fee, while those customers only needing 60% LTV can get a rate of 5.59%. The lender is also adding two large loan products for customers who need to borrow between £550,000 and £5m.
