In a survey of 15 european countries, the UK is ahead of France, Germany and Spain when it comes to pension provision, according to Aon Consulting.
In its annual European Pensions Barometer, the company has ranked 15 EU member countries on their pension schemes, based on research which looked at demographics; affordability and sustainability of a State pension; the adequacy of a State pension and the percentage of assets in company pensions. The UK came in at number six, ahead of Spain, which was ninth, France , which ended joint 11th with Greece, and Germany which came in just above Italy and Belgium at 13th.
