Rio Tinto rose 123 points, or 3.68%, to 3461p. BHP Billiton rose 42 points, or 3.09%, to 1403p. Man Group fell 15.5 points, or 2.75%, to 547.5p. 3i Group fell 24 points, or 2.24%, to 1049p. National Grid fell 15 points, or 2.14%, to 686p. Prudential fell 14 points, or 2.11%, to 650p. Imperial Tobacco Group fell 44 points, or 2.02%, to 2137p.
