AXA protection is seeking to dispel the "myths" surrounding non-disclosure after research found consumers fear mentioning slight medical conditions such as back ache will drive up premiums.
A YouGov poll of almost 2,000 individuals found more than half believe they will be charged more for protection for issues such as raised blood pressure. More than four in ten said high cholesterol would bump up their premium, while 39% cited mild depression, 34% back or joint ache, and 29% previous sexually transmitted diseases.
