Attempts are underway to revive the Government's failed Chain Matrix scheme after the E-Homebuying Forum revealed it held talks with the Land Registry over its plans to help the conveyancing sector move forward.
The Forum - which was set up earlier in the year - aims to bring faster certainty to the home-buying process and is scheduled to present a blueprint of its plans to the department of Communities and Local Government (CLG) next month. These include proposals to bring back the Chain Matrix scheme, the e-conveyancing and online information system which was shelved by the Land Registry in February this year, after increasing delays and negative feedback from the industry.
