Ashby appointment excites IFAs

IFAs have welcomed Credit Suisse's appointment of Graham Ashby to run its equity income desk.

Ashby joins as a managing director and UK Retail Equities head, while he also continues to manage the Sarasin UK Equity Income fund He will be joined by Michael Crawford and Marcus Chandler on the equity income team. Hargreaves Lansdown senior analyst Meera Patel says Credit Suisse has appointed a “solid and steady manager”. “I hope Credit Suisse incentivise him well so he stays for the long term,” she says. “It’s a bit of a blow for Sarasin, but it is good news for Credit Suisse after the bad publicity.” Bestinvest communications head Justin Modray says Ashby is a sensible signin...
