First State to launch EM Sustainability fund

First State Investments has launched a new Global Emerging Markets Sustainability fund into the UK and Europe.

Managed by David Gait and Jonathan Asante, the fund will utilise the expertise of First State's highly-regarded Asia Pacific and emerging markets equities team - which includes Angus Tulloch. Global Emerging Markets Sustainability will hold about 50 to 60 stocks, with an approximately 50% overlap to First State's existing Asia Pacific Sustainability vehicle. The new fund aims to capture the growth of emerging market companies currently improving business practices, targeting those it classifies as 'sustainability leaders'.
