Sir Fred Goodwin has returned a £3m lump sum from his pension fund.
Earlier today, it was revealed Goodwin had taken a cash lump sum from his controversial £16.9m pension fund, and had said he would only pay it back if his pot was increased. Last month, it was revealed the form RBS boss, who led the bank to the biggest loss in UK corporate history, would receive a £703,000 a year pension. Government ministers have said Goodwin should give up some of his pension, which was agreed by the RBS board despite the bank having to be rescued by the taxpayer.
