DLA highlights Gov't tax consultation

Law firm DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary is urging taxpayers to register their views through a consultation currently under way into the powers, deterrents and safeguards of HM Revenue and Customs, which was formed this year.

The consultation is open to comments until 13 June, and forms the first part of a wider review into making the new department more efficient. ”This would make it easier for taxpayers to understand and comply with their tax obligations, and potentially could reduce the administrative burden of the tax system that falls on them,” DLA says.
