Deregulation of pensions legislation will not significantly improve the pensions landscape, claims Lord Turner.
As part of the pensions white paper, the government has proposed introducing a rolling deregulatory review of pensions legislation to try and ease the burden of administration for employers. But Lord Turner, who as head of the Pensions Commission suggested the government should do this, says it will not improve the amount of corporate pension provision in the UK and instead will go back to how it was 50 years ago when the system was good for some people and bad for others.
