Poor financial advertising among sub-prime mortgage brokers is a sign of wider regulatory problems, says the Financial Services Authority.
The FSA visited the worst financial promotions offenders in the sub-prime market in October and November and found there were usually wider problems at stake. It says a number of these firms have now been referred to the FSA’s enforcement division for further investigation. During its visits, the FSA found brokers who issue poor advertising and promotional materials tend to have inadequate systems and controls to manage their businesses.
