The first payments from the Pension Education Fund (PEF) have been announced by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Previously known as the Pensions Challenge Fund, the PEF aims to bring together public sector, trade unions, voluntary and community groups to provide information and support to working people in making confident choices about their retirement. Set up in September 2004, the fund invited trade unions, charities, trade associations and other not-for-profit organisations to apply for funding by 2 September last year.
