M&S Christmas woes drag on FTSE

The FTSE 100 dipped this morning - falling 0.96% to 4,246.42 by 9.30am - with the LSE leading the losers.

The stock exchange posted losses of 6.79%, trading at 528.5. Financials featured in the top gainers, with Friends Provident (79.9) and Schroders (855.5) soaring 3.77% and 2.82% respectively. Consumer cyclicals was the only sector to see positive moves following the recent spending frenzy on the high street, up 1.04%. However, troubled retailer M&S (217.25) was languishing with falls of 3.77%, despite recent sales initiatives. IFAonline
