Standard Life picks up a Marks and Sparks bargain say papers 4 April

Standard Life is expected to appoint former Marks & Spencer finance director Alison Reed to a similar position in the next few days, The Daily Telegraph says.

Reed was ousted along with three other directors in November last year, while Standard Life has been looking for a replacement for John Hylands, whose departure is linked to the planned floatation of the mutual. ”Sandy Crombie, chief executive, was spotted with Ms Reed at London's Connaught restaurant last week and her appointment is expected to be confirmed in the next few days,” the Telegraph says.
