Scot Eq to launch CI awareness campaign

Aegon Scottish Equitable is launching an awareness campaign for IFAs and consumers to stress the importance of full disclosure when applying for critical illness cover.

The campaign follows research by Scottish Equitable last month, which highlighted confusion among consumers about what critical illness (CI) policies cover them for. From mid-October, IFAs will receive factsheets explaining the factors to look out for which consumers may overlook, such as height, weight, alcohol and tobacco usage, and immediate family history. A direct consumer campaign will involve interviews by Matt Rann, head of underwriting and claims for Aegon UK, with local radio stations.
