Un-affordability forces children to live with gran says Skipton

Future generation may be forced to live with their grandparents, says a building society, as the lack of pension savings in the UK and the problems facing first-time buyers become more apparent.

According to a report by Skipton Bulding Society, the number of families where three generations live under the same roof will treble over the next 20 years. This will give rise to about 200,000 households where granny, daugther and grand daughter all live together. Today, there are only about 75,000 extended families living together in this way across the country.
