Internet Demon creates a gremlin for FTSE

The FTSE markets are struggling to hold its position at the end of a fluctuating week, as Cable & Wireless and the company behind Demon internet services are suffering declines.

The FTSE 100 index is currently flat at 4566 within the first hour of trading and the FTSE All-Share index is flat at 2266. Cable & Wireless lost shed 3.25p or 3.2% to 99.5p while Thus, owner of the Demon internet service provider, plummeted 4.75p or 28% to 12.25p after reporting its fiscal first-half profits will fall as competitors are putting pressure on its pricing margins.
