Consumers will be able to check their credit ratings history with Equifax, one of the UK's two main providers of such information, through a new online service.
The service means people can obtain immediate credit histories and credit reports online rather than waiting for a letter. Access to the data is available for up to 30 days. Equifax says the service should improve consumers’ abilities to keep tabs on and improve their ratings, whilst also providing information on how lenders and others use the ratings to make decisions on extending credit.
