Property stocks build up FTSE gains

The FTSE 100 index is continuing its gains from yesterday with a rise of 8.6 points or 0.14% to 6,323.4 in early trading, with property companies leading the charge.

British Land is posting the biggest gains with a rise of 1.74% to £16.40, closely followed by Hammerson which is up 1.2% to £15.18, while Wolseley has climbed 1.04% to £13.64. Vodafone is also up 1.16% to 152p, while Man Group has gained 1.13% to 560.25p, although the index is being pulled lower by Bradford & Bingley which is down 0.9% to 467.25p. However, Drax is the biggest drag on the FTSE with a fall of 3.08% to 723.5p, closely followed by Kelda Group which is down 1.13% to 920.5p, while ICI has dropped 1.07% to 463.75p, and International Power has declined 1.01% to 366.25p.
