FTSE down 1% in early Friday trading

The FTSE100 has is currently 1% lower in early trading despite firms under a rights issue given a timely boost by the FSA. The index is 59.30 points down to 5731.20.

British Airways is once again punished as crude oil trades above $136 a barrel, down 3.96% to 230.50 so far. Enterprise Inns and the London Stock Exchange Group are also among the losses this morning, down 3.56% to 427.25 and 3.49% to 870.50 respectively. HBOS is driving forward after the regulator announced it is forcing short-sellers to disclose positions in companies undertaking rights issues. The lender is currently 6.71% higher to 302. Companies who may be looking to raise capital in the near future are also ahead, with Persimmon 2.82% higher to 383.25 and Alliance & Leicester 2....
