Skandia has launched a free platform price comparison tool it says will help advisers see through the charging "mess" that exists in today's market.
The provider says PriceWatch enables advisers to produce fund-specific comparisons of the costs of leading platforms including Transact, Cofunds and FundsNetwork, as well for 90% of the funds available via its in-house launch, Selestia Investment Solutions. In 2007, IFA support services firm threesixty said platform providers were "slowly marching" toward a price war that would arrive in mid-2009, largely as a result of "a small number of platforms becoming dominant".
