A-Day 'sparking widespread consolidation'

The simplified pensions regime prompted by A-Day has provided a catalyst for pension consolidation business, according to research by Skandia.

According to the study, more than seven in 10 advisers have seen consolidation business increase since A-day while just 1% have seen it decrease. In addition, 85% of advisers believe greater control over investment strategy is the main benefit to pension consolidation. Skandia says having all pension savings in one place can help the adviser and client to easily see the savings’ worth and evaluate whether the investment strategy sits in line with the client’s expectations.
