FSA bans former solicitor

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has banned former solicitor Allen Elliott from carrying out regulated activities in the financial services industry.

The ban follows a decision by the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal on 16 March 2006, which found Elliott was not a fit and proper person and "poses a risk to the protection of consumers and a risk to the reputation of the market”. More specifically, the Tribunal found Elliot was not able and willing to comply with the rules relating to his bankruptcy and he was found to have acted in contempt of court by breaching the freezing order.
