Seven out of ten British pensioners feel obligated to provide financial support to their relatives, new research indicates.
A new international survey comprising 9,200 interviewees and conducted by insurance firm Axa finds 62% of retired Brits are positive about their retired status, ranking them fourth in confidence of 15 countries asked. Britain tops countries in Europe, falling behind Australia (71%), Canada (69%) and New Zealand with 67%. European countries including Italy (36%) Spain (35%) and Portugal with 27% lag far behind with only a small percentage of retirees positive about their pension situation.
