RDR: Consumer Panel brands sales advice 'misleading'

The FSA's proposed 'sales advice' category has been described as 'problematic' by the Financial Services Consumer Panel (FSCP).

Speaking at the launch of the RDR feedback statement, FSCP Chairman Lord Lipsey says he is concerned about the sales advice label, and believes it will be extremely misleading for consumers. Lipsey also questioned whether tied advisers should be allowed to offer all products types, no matter how complex His comments contradict those made by groups such as the ABI which belives the RDR proposals will be 'good news for the consumer'.
