Laurie Edmans, Aegon UK's director of corporate development, has received a CBE for services to pensions reform in the New Year's Honours List.
Edmans has worked closely with the Government, Association of British Insurers (ABI) and other organisations in the long term savings industry on initiatives such as improving financial capability, developments in the independent financial advice sector such as depolarisation, as well as pensions, and is currently involved in the industry’s response to the Turner report. He was appointed a non-executive director of The Pensions Regulator in February 2005 and chairs the ABI’s Pensions and Savings Committee. Edmans says: ”I am of course delighted and very honoured.
