Trevor Matthews has taken time out from his role as chief executive at Friends Provident to reply personally to an IFA who expressed his concern about the future of the insurer.
In a blog post, Chris Geeson, managing director at Geeson Financial, said he struggles to believe there is a way back for the insurer following its restructure and poor Q1 results. His comments prompted Matthews, who took over as CEO of the insurer in July 2008, to write to him individually in a bid to help "explain some of the things that have been happening at Friends Provident" in the recent months.
