The FTSE closed the week down sharply by 66.50 at 5699.90 as a result of renewed worries about the US economy.
Miners continued to slump following profit taking with Antofagasta, Anglo American and Rio Tinto amongst the fallers. The risers included London Stock Exchange Group (up 55.00) and British Airways (up 8.50 to 243.50). The US market was volatile at the end of the week with the Dow Jones currently down 86.45 at 11953.94 on the back of worse than expected employment data. IFAonline
