Sir Fred Goodwin might leave Britain to escape the escalating row over his £703,000-a-year pension.
According to reports, 50-year-old Goodwin has been considering the move for some time and has already taken his two children out of school. It emerged yesterday Goodwin's annual pension was almost £300,000 higher than the £416,000 originally reported. Goodwin has agreed a £703,000-a-year deal which he is guaranteed for life. It has also emerged City minister Lord Myners was told of the size of the £16million pension pot but failed to spot part of the package could have been cancelled before signing it off.
