Two government consultants accused of a conflict of interest over assessing companies to administer the new home inspector scheme have been suspended, reports the Daily Telegraph .
The news is the latest blow for the government's home information packs (HIPs) after ministers agreed to axe the compulsory element of the home condition reports earlier this year. Christopher Legrand and Richard Theobalds were asked to stand down by Neil McDonald, the director of housing at the Department for Communities and Local Government, last Wednesday, says the paper.
