Results news aids FTSE recovery

The FTSE 100 has recovered from yesterday's heavy losses as positive results news has pushed the index up 86.6 points, or 1.44%, to 6,087.3 in early trading.

Imperial Tobacco Group is posting the biggest gains with a rise of 5.76% to £21.65, while Cadbury Schweppes is up 4.4% to 628.5p, after it revealed it intends to separate its confectionery and Americas Beverages businesses. Meanwhile Prudential is up 3.97% to 668.5p, as it announced a 15% rise in full-year profit, although miners are also doing well with Antofagasta up 4.24% to 467, while BHP Billiton has added 4.24% to £10.32. Just three stocks are making losses at the moment, with International Power down 0.13% to 372.25p, while United Utilities has slipped 0.07% to 715p, and Allian...
