British Airways keeps FTSE soaring

The FTSE 100 is continuing its momentum from yesterday with a rise of 2.9 points, or 0.05%, to 5,520.1, with British Airways and DSG International leading the advance.

British Airways is off to a flying start this morning, with strong gains of 5.25p, or 1.72%, to 310.25p, while DSG International has jumped 2.75p, or 1.83%, to 153.25p, to top the leaderboard. Elsewhere the losers are being paced by Johnson Matthey, the world's largest distributor of platinum-group metals, which has slipped 23p, or 1.78%, to 1,266p, after the company said first half sales have fallen 7.3%, even as it boosted profit by 35% by selling more catalysts.
